Whats New in 1.1.15

This release was mostly a maintenance build to allow for the fact the CCS database has been moved to a secondary server to help lighten the load on the main server.

New Features

  • All events are internally logged in an actions table, allowing for a full log of CCS activity to build up. Later there will be the potential to exploit this data to generate activity reports, and improve tracibility through the system.

Fixes and Tweaks

  • Root Diameter is now calculated in the inspection results of screw batches.
  • Minimum number of screws which must be tested from a batch increased to 25.
  • Database moved to SQL-SERVER

Whats New in 1.1.14

New Features

  • Accounts Submodule, used to reconcile things between CCS and accounts
  • Screw use can now be reconciled just like steel use
  • Search Screws by Advice Number tool now available

Fixes and Tweaks

  • Fixed problems with companies with non-standard account codes
  • Interface tweaks in Screw sections
  • New screw inspection field, Coat Thickness
  • Moved screws do not have to have been tested
  • Loads of list views now sort-able by clicking column headers

Whats New in 1.1.13

New Features

  • Option to delete a pallet added to advanced pallet options
  • Autologon (checks against table of windows usernames)
  • Screw Management. Screws can be booked in as batches, moved between locations and used.
  • Screw Stock can be exported to an Excel Spreadsheet

Fixes and Tweaks

  • Fixed problems with indirect customers
  • Pallet finder tool lets you jump straight to a pallet card if you know its number
  • Changed error report e-mail location in line with new VBE Software helpdesk

Please find below a summary of our accounts for the end of the financial year 2007-2008:

Total Balance (Profit) 2007-2008 £793.78

This is all a bit skewed however by the fact that the URMANT cycle has started earlier in a few schools this year so there are two subscriptions from the same school in the same financial year, it will take a while for that to balance out in the accounts.

Let URMANT Help

  • Drowning in a sea of paperwork?
  • Had enough of chasing subject teachers for references?
  • Fed up of typing up references written on scraps of paper?
  • Want the ease of being able to work online, whenever suits you?
  • Don't want to pay a fortune for a bulky, cumbersome and difficult to use system?

Heard of URMANT?
With A-Level exams looming the last thing a head of sixth forms wants is to have to start worrying about the year 12's UCAS applications. URMANT makes the whole process of sorting out UCAS references simple. Administrative staff do their bit, subjects teachers do their bit, form tutors do their bit and you do your bit. The system keeps everybody in the loop and lets you know where the bottlenecks are.

URMANT is still in its trial stages, but we are looking for more schools to join the system for the next academic year (08/09) and we're offering good incentives to join us in our early years! Get ahead of the game by joining now and enjoy a 50% life discount on your yearly URMANT subscriptions. Contact Us for more information.

New Website

Today this site officially went "Live", and users are now being redirected here from the various sub-websites which used to serve these projects. By keeping all our projects in one place, we hope to be able to better maintain the overall quality of content. In line with this we have also launched a new help site, built on MediaWiki software it will - over time - build up into a repository of help, support and documentation for VBE Software projects.

This is the new site for information about URMANT, a UCAS Reference Management System for schools, colleges and sixth forms. This site is designed to compliment the actual URMANT project, which is available from http://schools.urmant.org .

As it develops this site will provide information about purchasing and setting up URMANT, as well as help and support for subscribed users.

URMANT has been running at one school for the 2006-7 UCAS season, and is now being prepared for use in multiple schools ready for the 2007-8 season.

A quick Bug-Fix, many people seemed to be getting peculiar messages about not being able to establish communications with MSN Messenger. The fix for this (as now listed on the requirements page) is that Windows Messenger must be installed on the computer. (iTunes2MSN actually connects to Windows Messenger, even though you are assumed to be running MSN Messenger (don't ask me why, thats just how it works -_-).

Another Bug-Fix, for weird errors about paths not existing, try turning off the Make Song Info feature. Thanks to Ben for help sorting that out

I guess I'd been a bit ignorant lately of just how much attention this project is getting, starting as a proof-of-concept project (as I was stunned it didn't already exist) the project is really taking off (certainly compared to anything I've done before). My log analysis has been broken on this server for some time, and in fixing it today i saw just how many sites are linking to the project, and just how many hits and downloads we are getting every week.
